| Welcome to the unityvoices website,
we hope you will visit us often.
We are a group of singers from Marsden in West Yorkshire.
We sing many styles of music, specialising in tribal and ethnic
sounds, and we also enjoy singing songs from all over the world
including protest, folk, pop, and roots. There are 19 members, who
are all good friends, and really enjoy singing together. In 2002
we recorded our first CD ‘no handbags’
'White horses' followed in 2004 and our Christmas
CD 'Jingle
Belles' in 2005.
Our latest CD 'Circle
of life' was recorded in 2007 and launched at a concert in the
Parochial Hall Marsden.
We have a wide range of voices in the group, some are
folky in style, others have blues influences, one or two members
are more classically orientated, some have a pure child-like sound,
while others sing in deep and husky tones. All this blends to create
the unique quality of unity.
We sing a capella or are accompanied by our musicians
who play a range of instruments including acoustic and bass guitar,
keyboard and violin. To add to this we have a variety of percussion
instruments.
